Hi, yes that's me in the picture, Jack Buchanan.
Artistic Woodwork was born during the lockdown of 2020. What started as a keen hobby has transformed into a passion and my business. I love designing and building functional works of art for my clients homes, my projects are created completely individual and with the highest quality materials and the utmost care.
Have an idea in mind, don't be afraid, pick up the phone, drop me an email, I love talking new projects!
Please reach out to jack@artisticwoodwork.co.uk if you have any further questions.
If you are interested in placing a bespoke order please fill out or contact form, call or send an email giving as much detail about your project as possible. We will then come back to you with a quote with the specific wood we suggest and a proposal for your design. To secure a place in our schedule we require a 50% deposit.
At the time of ordering the specific design will be loosely set to a rough size and design. Once the order begins we will be in contact to finalise everything. Specific dimensions, wood layout, wood finish, and if there is an epoxy feature the colour of this can be set then, and we are happy to make up samples should you wish.
This varies throughout the year and will depend on how busy our current schedule is. A standard lead time is around 3 months.
We have a wide range of designs available for either purchase directly on the website or for a bespoke quotation. Should you also be ordering a bespoke table your legs / base can be included as part of your entire table invoice.
For more info see the "leg designs" page.
Yes, we have a one year warranty. The settling period for these large slabs will be no more than a year, so in the unlikely event that something does happen to your table in this period we will make sure that it is 100% fixed.
We have a number of trusted suppliers across the UK. All of our suppliers source their wood in a sustainable and ethical manner.
We only work with suppliers who properly season their wood with years of air drying, followed by drying in a kiln, this means the wood will be stable and ready for indoor use. Additionally we have our own quality control process, so we will monitor moisture content for all the wood we work with and have an acclimatisation process if required.
All of our tables will come with sufficient support to prevent sagging, cupping, bowing etc. The base will often offer a lot of this support, but we will always mill channel into the bottom of our tables across the width to prevent cupping, this will be done additionally along the length if the base does not offer a length ways support. So you can be rest assured that we do everything to ensure your table stays nice and flat.
